YACUMAMA, SPIRIT OF THE AMAZON RIVER, PERU

Yacumama comes from Quechua and means MOTHER OF WATER. By the Indians legend it symbolizes a huge green anaconda, living in the Amazon rainforest. They believe that she gave birth to all the water fauna and became the guardian of the Amazon River.
